We offer fun and energetic drumming classes for all ages and abilities.
Our drum corps are divided into two age group/skill categories.

Junior 8-12 years

With Phillip Campbell
Phillip's lessons make drumming fun, challenging and progressive, his 30 years teaching experience and more than 40 years playing experience enable him to meet the individual needs of each student.
If you wish to learn favourite rock beat’s and fill’s, or work through exam syllabus in preparation for a career in music, Phillip can provide the perfect environment for you to gain the knowledge and understanding needed to accelerate your learning. Private lessons are conducted from the Historic Watch House studio Rokeby, and facilitate a broad range of musical styles including Rock, Pop, Funk, Jazz, Latin, Afro, Cuban, Reggae, Rudimental and New Orleans.
Lessons are geared toward a thorough understanding of stick control, 4 way coordination, and beginner to advanced reading skills. Favourite songs and play along tracks are used to strengthen the students accuracy speed and endurance.
Musicianship is also incorporated into each lesson to broaden the students understanding of notation, signs and symbols to enhance their musical experience and increase confidence. Each lesson offers the opportunity to progress at your own unique pace and partake in the weekly homework activities.

Piano/Keyboard Harmony

The classes are designed for students wishing to gain a thorough understanding of Basic Keyboard harmony, Chords, intervals, Meter and Rhythm and Pitches. The Modern Musicianship series was created by the acclaimed Helen Hobbs Jordan, an exacting New York music teacher who instructed generations of performers in ear training and theory, including Melissa Manchester, Bette Midler and Tony Bennett. Students are encouraged to learn their favourite songs and are taught the skills necessary to begin piano improvisations from the platform adopted from the series.

Early Childhood, Piano and Vocals
With Sophia Hamilton
Sophia’s love of music and children guarantee a fun filled class that offers a solid foundation to increase children’s awareness of meter rhythm and pitch, her classes are methodically planned and utilise colourful illustrations and group games to facilitate learning.
Sophia commenced music training at age 9 and studied the Australian Music Examination Board syllabuses, the study has granted her extensive experience in CPM Vocal advancing steps 1-4 Singing for leisure and Classical piano. Sophia also achieved band 6 for HSC music and is a qualified practitioner of the progressive Music Makers early childhood music syllabus.
Parents are encouraged to join in on many of her classes, fun homework is provided for all students and parents to complete each week. Private and group tuition is held at the Historic Watch House studio Rokeby. Enrolments are available from Term 4, 2019
